The difference he said between Spanish and English football was quite interesting. Most of all though, I find his words about Liverpool fans very moving.

Recommended for Liverpool fans. Bill Taylor. I am a Liverpool FC fan, but I wasn't expecting to enjoy this. I expected some tedious drivel about growing up as a boy, kicking a ball around the streets of Madrid, going to Barca as a schoolboy and so on. Whilst there was some of that, it turned out to be well written and in the end I really warmed to Pepe Reina.

I admit that the prospect of some dirt being dished about Liverpool's notorious owners, Hicks and Gillet or the hapless manager Roy Hodgson, was my motivation for reading but it's too close to the events for that from an autobiography. Still we were given some insight into the loss of some of the stars such as Alonso and Torres. Pepe's description of the emotions and aspirations of footballers is very incisive.

I was impressed with Pepe I must admit. He seems a thorough professional, and although he has had a few wobbly times at Liverpool, he is clearly dedicated to Liverpool and its football club, and I'm sure he will be around for a while - assuming he continues to play well of course!
